Curating beyond
exhibition-making: a laboratory

“I envision curatorship as a way of thinking about interconnections: connecting objects, images, processes, people, places, stories and discourses in the physical space, like an active catalyst,” says curator Maria Lind.

Today, the curator’s work goes far beyond the exhibition space and unfolds into myriad areas of cultural practices. From fieldwork with artists to the editing of publications, from the building of collections to the creation of educational programs, the boundaries of curatorial practice expand into experimental formats.
This laboratory discusses historical aspects of the field of curatorship, including case studies and workshops centered around each of the laboratory’s three modules — public programs, editorial projects and experimental practices.
